Omar de Silva
Founder @ The Plato Project
After numerous business attempts growing up, and a couple of successful ones, Omar finished school and chased the dream of becoming a professional golfer. Realising this wasn’t to be, he quickly found his passion for business. Since then, he has established a prove track record in venture development and investment, in a variety of sectors including professional services, property and entertainment.
Most recently Omar’s focus has been on education and the entrepreneurial eco-system of Australia. In 2014/15 Omar developed and launched Australia’s first and only bachelor degrees in Applied Entrepreneurship and Applied Social Entrepreneurship with an education startup Ducere.
In 2015 Omar became an Ambassador of the G20 Global Entrepreneurship Week and in 2016 worked as a Sherpa with the G20 Australian Young Entrepreneur Alliance.
In February 2016, Omar co-founded The Plato Project – a new business school driven to foster entrepreneurship and business leadership that unlocks both commercial and social value.
