Simon Mathonnet is the Head of Digital Strategy at Splashbox, a Melbourne digital marketing, design and web development agency that specialises in enterprise eCommerce clients. Simon personally oversees more than 100 digital marketing campaigns, devising bespoke digital strategies across SEO, SEM, CRO and social media, as well as managing the rollout and technical implementation of each campaign.
His role also sees him serve as advisor to Splashbox’s vast roster of clients, which includes prominent fashion labels, large-scale property developers, and high-volume eCommerce businesses. Simon uses his technical knowledge, business acumen, and ability to translate complex technical concepts and intricate data trends into practical, scalable strategies to improve and grow each business. After studying IT and mathematics in France, Simon earned a Master’s Degree in digital marketing from universities in Paris and San Francisco. At the time, Simon was a professional gamer with a passion for puzzles and escape rooms. It wasn’t long before he was applying his competitive edge and talent for problem solving to the world of SEO, which he mastered whilst working for a series of startups in France, the US and Australia. He was drawn to SEO because of its “ever changing environment” and the fact that it allowed him to be both technical and creative.
Key to Simon’s success as an SEO and digital strategist is a focus on data and detailed metrics and an ability to analyse vast chunks of data in order to reveal what’s hidden beneath the surface and extract the trends and insights that matter most to a business and their digital presence.
